Community Relations &Government Affairs
The Jewish Community Council of Pelham Parkway represents the unified voice of the Synagogues and Jewish organizations of our Bronx neighborhood. We work with government agencies to promoter services to the community at large and to highlight the unique needs of our constituents. We work with the leaders of the many ethnic groups who are our neighbors in Pelham Parkway and sponsor events that bring us together in celebration of community life.

The Council works with the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York and gains guidance and support from its expertise and City wide experience.

Council speakers have addressed Public School students learning about their neighbors, spoken on behalf of Israel at community events and joined community clergy at events promoting inter-group cooperation and respect.

Council Executive Director, David Edelstein meets with Michael Miller, Executive Vice President of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.

Dr. Delores M. Fernandez, Ph.D. joined the Council at a recent celebration of Israel’s Independence Day. Dr. Fernandez presented a Community Service Award to noted community leader Elias Karmon.

The Council presented its Community Service Award to the Community Affairs Unit of the 49th Police Precinct.
